Year 4 – Trip to Wetlands Centre – 12.02.16
As part of our Science topic we have been exploring states of matter and the water cycle so we visited the Wetlands Centre to enhance our knowledge on how water is used within our surroundings.
We walked around the outdoor grounds of the centre and discovered what part water plays in the habitats of different animals. We then took part in an activity where we explored the impact of flooding on the environment and discovered ways to prevent it.

Royal National Lifeboat Institution Yr5 / 6 workshop
Getting ready for the summer…
During the safety presentations pupils learn key water safety messages in a fun and interactive manner and find out how to spot potential hidden dangers around open water, what to do in an emergency and how to raise the alarm.
‘The talks really bring our safety messages to life in the children’s minds. We take some of our rescue equipment into the schools and also encourage each group to ask lots of questions.
