Cooking tips

  • Have your eyes ever teared or stung when chopping onions? A great tip to help to clear your eyes, is to run the back of both your wrists under cold running water for a minute! Try it next time you chop onions to see how it helps!
  • To check if your fairy cakes are cooked take a toothpick, cocktail stick, or sharp knife and poke through the center of the cake. If the instrument comes out clean your cakes are ready! If not, try again in a minute or two.
  • If using dry fruit, soak them in warm water for a few hours before adding them to your recipe. This will rehydrate them and bring out their flavours!

Supporting your child’s home learning’ – Parent worshop

All of the parents that attended were extremely engaged and seemed to enjoyed the session. The feedback were very positive and they all mentioned that they have taken away some useful tips from the workshop. The parents also had the opportunity to have discussion amongst themselves and share tips and ideas in how they support their children at home.

Thanks to Djamilla for delivering such a productive workshop.
