Year 2 – Science week

During Science week Year 2 had lots of fun working to clean up the garden. We planted lots of different vegetables and fruits! We think it is important to look after our garden! We also made little ladybirds out of golf balls and planted some seeds in Wellington boots! We also designed a new garden! Thank you for Miss Oatway for letting us help you!

Why is it important for you to look after our garden?

Why do we need to plant more trees?

How would you like to improve our garden?

Sports Relief – 18.03.16

Children came to school dressed in something sporty in return for a £1.00 donation to Sport Relief. We are sure you all agree this is a worthy charity supporting many children in this country and abroad.

John Perryn School has decided to get involved aswell as raising some money for this incredible cause.  Thanks to Mr Ryan and Mr Gavin for organising such an amazing event.

What are maths passports?

Maths Passports are used to improve children’s mental maths skills.

Each child will be given a passport with a series of targets. These targets get progressively more challenging as the passports track progression in basic number skills. The children will develop instant recall skills in all the objectives – they should not be taking time to work out the answer to each question, they need to know it instantly.

EE Challenge day – Crime Scene Investigation – 15.03.16

The students at John Perryn began the day with a special ‘police briefing’ in assembly. Alanna (EE) explained that a criminal, known as ‘The Sugar Snatcher’ had struck again! Students took on the role of new police recruits, working with the Police’s Forensic Unit to collect and analyse evidence from the ‘crime scene’. The teams of detectives had to work carefully together so as to not miss any important clues…
